We give our counsellors all the tools, training and support necessary to challenge themselves and grow as a confident and strong leaders.

How We Support Our Counsellors

Our team leaders mentor our counsellors in helping them in challenging situations, bond the staff group, and pitching in to support young leaders as they grow into their best selves.

Program Co-ordinator

  • Develop, administer and supervise a diversified camp program in cooperation with the Director to support Camp KidsTowns objectives and philosophies.
  • Prepare program outlines, daily activities and special events, program supplies and additional programming requirements for camp staff.
  • Visit programs daily, provide direction and ongoing coaching to enhance frontline staff program knowledge, techniques and skills.
  • Providing on-going support, direction and assistance to staff to enhance program knowledge and leadership skills.
  • Immediately and effectively respond to camp and camp staff concerns.
  • Effectively provide quality customer service and act as a knowledgeable resource to clients, staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain a flexible working schedule to ensure supervision and continuity of program.

KidsZone Counsellor

  • Supervising and participating in activities with campers from ages 4-6 years.
  • Provide campers with physical and emotional safety and overall positive camp experience.
  • Plans, organized and leads an age appropriate camp program.
  • Attends and participated in meetings and training sessions.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.

Specialty Counsellor

  • Supervising and participating in activities with campers from ages 5.5-12.5 years olds.
  • Plans organizes, implements and leads a specialty camp program area that is age appropriate.
  • Experience and evidence of a passion for their speciality programs.
  • Attends and participated in meetings and training sessions.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.

Specialty Programs Include:

  • FASHION ARTS (Fashion, Jewelry, DIY)
  • STEM (3D Printing, Lego We Do, Game Design, Robotics, Engineering)
  • MUSICAL THEATRE
  • DANCE
  • ART
  • SPORTS
  • CARPENTRY
  • SCIENCE

Qualifications

  • All program staff must have completed Grade 10 or Equivalent.
  • Must complete a police background check.
  • CPR & First Aid Certificates.
