Registration Questions

Q. Where and how do I register for your summer camp programs?

A. To register for camp please, utilize our safe and secure online registration system. The link is found on our website under the Registration Tab. To register, select "Register Now." From there, follow the system prompts and select the programs for which you wish to register each child. Once this is completed, you will receive an email confirming your registration. Registration is on a first come first served basis.

Q. What if the session I want is full?

A. As soon as each program reaches its maximum limit, we start a waitlist.

Q. Do you maintain waitlists?

A. If you are registered for a program that is full, you will be notified that your child has been placed on the waitlist. Should a spot become available, we would contact you to determine your interest. If you are still interested we will enroll your child for that weekly session. There is no cost to be placed on the waitlist.

Q. What is the likelihood of getting into a weekly session off of the wait-list?

A. Though we cannot guarantee that spot will become available, we find that many openings do become available as we near the start of camp.

General Questions

Q. Do you have an extended day program?

A. Yes. We offer extended day programs both in the morning and in the afternoon. Campers may be dropped off as early as 7:30am and stay as late at 6:00pm.

Q. Is there communication between the camp and parents?

A. Yes. We have clear lines of communication between camp and home. Of course, parents are always welcome to call or visit the camp at any time. We only ask that you first check in with the Directors before visiting your camper. This will ensure the safety of our campers and staff. We also take full advantage of our online database to communicate with camper families through email. Please provide the camp office with your most re- cent email address to ensure you receive our emails.

Q. Do you have any special events?

A. Yes we offer a variety of special events throughout the summer. These include theme days, performers, and many camp performances. Prior to these events, the camp will communicate all necessary details through a flyer and/or email.

Q. What if my child does not want to participate in a particular activity?

A. This is a natural response for many children when they encounter certain camp activities. We strive to inspire each child to give everything a try. Our staff encourages campers to overcome their fears and to discover skills that they never knew they had.

Q. What happens on rainy days?

A. We have plenty of indoor space to use in the event of rain. Please have your child bring their rain attire.

Q. Do you provide lunch or snacks?

A. We do not provide lunch or snacks. Parents are required to provide their child with lunch, snacks and drinks. We are a nut free facility. There is an optional Pizza day on Fridays.

Q. Can my child bring electronic devices to camp?

A. No. We do not recommend your child bring any valuable or electronic devices to camp. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen devices.

Pickup and Drop off Questions

Q. Where do I drop of my child?

Drop-off and pick-up locations are specifically outlined in materials that we send out to all families in June.

Q. Where do I park my car for pickup/drop-off?

A. There are several parent short-term parking spots on your right as you drive in our driveway.

Q. What do I do if I arrive late for drop-off?

A. Campers that arrive late should be brought directly to the Camp office. This will allow for accurate attendance and ensure your child is matched up with the proper group for the day.

Q. What should I expect on the first day?

A. Plenty of staff will be directing you where you need to go! We have a very organized drop-off procedure. At pick-up the same process will occur but each parent will be asked their name to verify whether or not they are on the campers "authorized pick up list".

Q. What if I am late to pick up my camper?

A. You will find your camper in aftercare program. All campers who have yet to be picked up after 4:00 pm will be brought to the aftercare room where phone calls will be made.

Q. What do I do if I need to pick up my camper early?

A. If you plan to pick up your camper early please advise the camp office. We ask all parents to provide an email the time of pick up which will ensure we have your camper ready in the Camp office.

Questions Regarding Staff

Q. How thorough is your staff hiring process?

Our candidates go though an extensive application and screening process that includes a written application, a personal interview, references and a police check. They are CPR and First Aid Certified.

Q. What are the ages of the staff?

A. Our staff range in age from a junior staff age 17 to a senior staff up to age 30+. Our programs are led by mature and responsible counselors.

Q: What type of training do your staff receive?

A: All Camp KidsTown staff undergo a comprehensive training program.

Tax Receipts FAQ

Q: Can I claim both the Child Care Tax and Child Fitness Tax Credits?

A: Yes. A family can claim the amount paid under the Child Care Credit and Child Fitness Credit.
