Safety Policies

Code of Conduct Policy

At CKT, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where everyoneā€”campers, families, staff, and LITā€™sā€”can fully enjoy a positive and enriching camp experience. We believe in fostering a respectful atmosphere that values the rights, needs, and well-being of our entire camp community, ensuring a space that is both physically and emotionally safe for all.

To maintain these values, the following Code of Conduct applies to everyone involved in CKT programming:

  • Respect for Safety: All camp members are expected to prioritize the safety of themselves and others by following camp rules and guidelines to create a secure space for everyone.
  • Respect for Feelings: Show empathy and kindness in all interactions, treatingĀ others with consideration and being inclusive to help foster a friendly and welcoming environment.
  • Respect for Property: Campers and staff should take care of personal belongings and camp property, keeping our space tidy and enjoyable for all.
  • Inclusive and Respectful Behavior: Actively contribute to a positive environment through words and actions. Be kind, helpful, and respectful to everyone you meet, ensuring every camper feels valued.
  • Stay with Your Group: Campers must remain with their designated group and within camp facilities at all times.

Nut-Aware Camp Policy

Nut-Free Camp Environment: To ensure the safety of campers with allergies, we ask that all campers avoid bringing products containing peanuts, tree nuts, or nut-derived ingredients.

Label Awareness: Please review food labels carefully to confirm that items do not contain nuts or have been processed in a facility with nuts.

Lunch and Snack Monitoring: Our team will help oversee food brought to camp to ensure it complies with our nut-free policy.

No Food Sharing: We have a strict NO FOOD SHARING policy. Campers are reminded not to share snacks or lunches.

Supervision and Training: Camp counselors supervise all meal times. They are trained in Standard First Aid and CPR-C, including the identification and response to allergic reactions, as well as in the proper administration of EpiPens if necessary.

Sun Safety Policy

At CKT, we recognize the importance of protecting our campers from harmful sun exposure. Our Sun Safety Policy includes the following guidelines:

  • Sun Protection: Campers are encouraged to bring and wear broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher. Sunscreen should be applied before arriving at camp and reapplied throughout the day.
  • Sunscreen Assistance: For younger campers who may need help applying sunscreen, our staff are available to assist. Please complete the appropriate permission form if your child requires help with sunscreen application.
  • Protective Clothing: Campers are encouraged to wear hats, to protect against sun exposure.Ā
    • Hydration: Staying hydrated is essential, especially in hot weather. Campers should bring a refillable water bottle to camp daily.
