General Camp Questions
What should my child bring to camp?
Campers should bring a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, hat, and packed lunch. Please ensure all items are clearly labeled.
How do you handle allergies and medical conditions?
Please inform us of any allergies or medical conditions during registration so we can make the necessary accommodations.

How do I register for camp?
To register your child(ren) for CKT, click on any "REGISTER NOW" button on our website. You will be asked to create a new account, input your child’s information, choose their attendance weeks, and make a payment to reserve their spot!
How and where can I register for camp programs?
Registration is available online on our recreation portal. For the best experience, we recommend using a laptop or computer. If you need assistance during registration or are having trouble logging into your account, please refer to the camp set-up guide.
When does camp registration begin?
Registration begins on January 1, 2025.
Can siblings be kept together if they’re in different age groups?
We encourage campers to stay with their age groups to enjoy age-appropriate activities with new friends. However, if a camper is having difficulty being separated from their sibling, we can arrange for visits or a transfer (a transfer fee may apply).
How are extreme weather conditions handled at camp?
In case of extreme weather, we have access to indoor facilities like gymnasiums, performing arts rooms, and classrooms. On heat advisory days, outdoor activities may be limited or modified for safety.
What happens if a camper is injured or not feeling well?
Our goal is to integrate campers back into their group whenever possible. In case of more serious injuries or illness, parents will be notified immediately. If necessary, emergency medical services will be contacted. All staff are trained in First Aid and equipped with walkie-talkies for communication with the main office and the Camp Nurse.
Lost and Found
Does Camp KidsTown have a lost and found?
All lost and found items are kept in a bin. and Wellness Centre. Campers anytime with staff supervision to check for their lost belongings. Parents may also contact the camp office to inquire about lost items.
Any items left at camp by the end of the summer will be kept until August 23 and then donated to charity. We strongly encourage labeling every item you send to camp!
Inclusion and Support
What type of programming can I expect at camp? What if my child needs assistance to participate in activities?
We strive to create an enjoyable experience for all campers. Campers are expected to be able to participate in the full camp experience with minimal adaptation, including being fully toilet trained.
At registration, you will be asked if your child has any medical conditions or disabilities that require attention. If so, we will provide additional documentation to complete your registration.

What is the ratio of camp staff to children?
Our staff-to-camper ratios are based on age:
- For groups with campers ages 4-5 years, the ratio is 1:8
- For groups with campers ages 6 and older, the ratio is 1:10
Staff Selection and Training
What qualifications do staff have?
Our staff are carefully selected for their camp experience, ability to connect with children, creativity, enthusiasm, and leadership. All staff are required to have Standard First Aid certification and must undergo reference checks and a Criminal Record Check.
